This one is for the movie fans of the show Only Connect - the notoriously difficult BBC game show where contestants are shown four seemingly random clues that somehow connect. In this edition all clues will be movie related. Swipe to see all clues, answers at bottom of page. There are five questions in total and scoring usually works like this; 5 points if answered correctly after 1st clue, 3 points after 2nd, 2 points after 3rd, 1 point after fourth/final clue. That means that there are 25 points up for grabs, but I'd say a good score for a film fan would be around 7 points. Good luck! Question One:

Question Two:

Question Three:

Question Four:

Question Five:

Answers:

Answers Explained: The answer to question one is hidden fictional settings in movies. Calamity Jane contains the word 'Amity', the setting for Spielberg's 1975 classic Jaws. Flamingo Thames contains the fictional city of 'Gotham' from the Batman films. Lunar Niagara Falls contains the fictional setting of 'Narnia', from the CS Lewis adapted films. Finally, the most obvious clue contained 'Hogwarts' from the Harry Potter film franchise. The answer to question two is fairly straight-forward: Tarantino films by order of film in Tarantino's filmography and the word that completes the title; so Tarantino's ninth film was 'Once upon a time in HOLLYWOOD', his eighth 'The Hateful EIGHT', his seventh 'Django UNCHAINED' and his sixth 'Inglourious BASTERDS'.
The clues in question three all relate to the main characters in the 1985 film 'Back to the Future'. Directors Miller and Romero share the first name GEORGE. Bugs Bunny's catchphrase is 'What's up DOC', referring to Doc Brown. Pow, blap and sok are all Batman-esque synonyms for the word BIFF. And the final clue refers to the nickname of Goodfellas director Martin (MARTY) Scorsese.
Question four are all anagrams of movies in the Marvel cinematic universe. Years of the film's release are given underneath as an extra clue. Roth can be rearranged to Thor, Grotto Dancers to Doctor Strange, Managed: Revenges becomes Avengers: Endgame and Roam Inn becomes Iron Man (the movie that rebooted the Marvel machine).
The final question is my personal favourite. Each clue is a synopsis of a Spielberg film, and uses the film's title as an acronym to write the synopsis. The first Presidents Obstruct Scandalous Tabloids refers to The Post, Debut: Evil Unleaded Lurking refers to Spielberg's feature debut Duel, Hero's Offspring Ominously Kidnapped refers to the film Hook and Jostling A Wild Shark of course refers to Jaws.
